Description
We love the thick, sturdy feel of this little bean pot. Made by an artisan near Cairo and with a half-matte glaze finish. The Egyptian word Assalie means honey or molasses. Dark Assalie describes exactly the color and feel of this glaze.
This pot is ideal for about a pound of beans, depending on the variety. Just dump in some very good quality, freshly dried beans (We love Rancho Gordo’s!), maybe a clove or two of garlic, or some onion, cover with at least two inches of water and cook away. Then, use those cooked beans in any number of dishes from salads to soups, or even solo with a pinch of salt. Simple and delicious!
Serves 4-6 people.
Dark Assalie Brown. Half matte glazed finish. Partially exposed Terra Cotta on the lid.
8½” W x 9” H (21 cm x 23 cm). Opening 6” W (15 cm). Because our pots are handmade, the actual dimensions may vary.
