Description
We love the thick, sturdy feel of this bean pot. Made by an artisan near Cairo. The Egyptian word Assalie means honey or molasses and describes exactly the color and feel of this glaze.
Just dump in some very good quality, freshly dried beans (We love Rancho Gordo’s!), maybe a clove or two of garlic, or some onion, cover with at least two inches of water and cook away. Then, use those cooked beans in any number of dishes from salads to soups, or even solo with a pinch of salt. Simple and delicious!
Serves 8-10 people.
Glossy Assalie Brown glazed inside and out with a unique half-dipped lid.
10” W x 11” H (25.5 cm x 8 cm). Opening 7” W (18 cm). Because our pots are handmade, the actual dimensions may vary.
