Description
Made in the Egyptian countryside, this deep open casserole is glazed in a unique style familiar to the region. Traditionally, this clay pot is commonly used to bake stews and rice dishes in a wood fired oven – lidless so that a perfect golden crust can be achieved. For an oven baked stew, simply cover the opening with aluminum foil first. Halfway through the cooking time, remove the foil to allow the stew to brown on top.
Each piece is different, has a beautifully rustic feel and also makes a great serving piece. This size serves 1 to 2 people.
Opening 6¼” x 4″ H (15 cm x 10 cm) Because our pots are handmade, the actual dimensions may vary.
